My company has been dormant - what do I need to file?
If your company has not been trading, you still need to complete your annual legal obligations. Annual Accounts and a Confirmation Statement both need to be filed at Companies House, even if you are not trading. You can view your company deadlines by searching your company name here. Breakdown of your requirements: 1) Confirmation Statement (filed with Companies House) - This is still a legal requirement for dormant companies. Failure to file a Confirmation Statement will result in your company being dissolved. If the company has been dormant. the company will not need to pay tax, however you must inform HMRC of this, otherwise they will assume you are trading and can fine you if you fail to deliver tax returns.
