1. No, the appointment of a secretary at Companies House is not included as part of the Full Company Secretary Service. 2. The service was previously offered under the service, but was discontinued on 1 March 2024 following the implementation of the “Lawful Purpose Statement” on the annual confirmation statement, per the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. 3. If a customer enquires about the need to appoint a secretary, you can advise the following: a. A secretary is only required by private companies if there are provisions in their articles of association, shareholders agreement, or other, that requires them to do so. b. We are unable to arrange an alternative secretary to act for them, and are unable to make any such referrals. c. Private companies do not require their secretaries to have formal qualifications (so, for example, an existing director could also take up the position, if so desired).
