Customer wants an update on their VAT application

If the request is by telephone If someone has a query about their VAT application, you should first enquire as to whether they have purchased the service from us and if they have completed the VAT application form. If so (or they are not able to confirm), please log in to the following link: URL: https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/home/ Use login details via LastPass. INSTRUCTIONS: Click on ‘View all communications’ Scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Search’ For service select ‘VAT’ For message status select ‘All’ In the ‘Business name’ box enter the company name Click ‘Search’ At the bottom you will see the result of the search. Clicking on the company will show the details If the order is processing and an acknowledgement has been received – please relay this to the customer If the VAT number has been received, please notify the client and make them aware that this will be sent to them shortly. Please call Gordon Andrew and request for VAT number to be sent out. The customer has not completed their VAT application form questionnaire If customer states they have not completed the form, please refer them to their ‘Order Fulfilled’ email. Within the body of the email, there will be heading titled ‘VAT registration’ and a link for them to complete a short online form. Once completed, this will come through to our VAT agent who will proceed with the VAT registration via HMRC. This process can take up to 30 days.
