How long does the VAT Registration process take?

VAT registration normally takes 2-4 weeks, for a UK based application, and 4-6 weeks if the applicant is a non-resident, once the customer has completed the VAT questionnaire. HMRC do not guarantee to complete the registration in any timeframe so please send us your details back as early as possible. As soon as your VAT registration has been processed, we will email your VAT registration number to you. Your VAT registration certificate will follow shortly by post, directly from HMRC. *HMRC are severely backlogged so we are seeing delays of up to 4-5 months.
